Thermax Fixed Smoke Curtains restrict the lateral spread of smoke and gasses along the underside of an internal ceiling in the event of a fire.
Fixed smoke curtains are most effective when used as part of a smoke control system. For example, it is possible to create smoke reservoirs from which smoke and hot gasses can be extracted or diverted.
Our smoke curtains are workshop manufactured from individual panels sewn together with stainless steel filament thread.
The smoke curtain suspension system can be adapted to suit all types of applications.
SPECIFICATIONS
Our standard smoke curtain specification material is a white chemically weavelocked continuous filament ‘E’ glass fabric having a base weight of 400-420g/m² and a thickness of 0.4mm.
We can manufacture from a wide range of BS & EN rated fabrics to suite the application.
The smoke curtains are workshop manufactured in panels of 1.2 metre widths, sewn together with double hems on all vertical seams using stainless steel filament thread. The top and bottom reinforced hems are sewn with stainless steel thread.
The lower hems of the smoke curtain are to be stabilised by a 20mm diameter steel tube inserted into the bottom hem and linked continuously with connectors.
The open vertical site seams of the smoke curtain panels are to be closed by riveted seam joints.
